Automated Engineering Services has announced its acquisition of California-based Process Integration, Inc. This acquisition expands the AES product portfolio in the Southern California region.
Process Integration, Inc. is the Southern California authorized representative for leading product brands such as Mettler Toledo, Microfluidics and Aber. Through this acquisition, AES expands its existing product portfolio to include cell density measurement instruments, high shear homogenizers, process analytics instrumentation, as well as measurement and control systems. These instruments are used in the biotech, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, water treatment, chemical, semi conductor, food/beverage, and other industries. AES will serve as the Southern California authorized representative for this new range of products.

The acquisition brings a talented and passionate team of industry experts to AES, which ensures a seamless transition for current Process Integration customers. Process Integration founders, Joe Vandehey and John Scott, are joining the AES team and bring decades of experience to the organization.
Joe Vandehey has over 26 years of experience in plant automation and controls. Before Process Integration, Joe specialized in instrumentation and control solutions at Burkert in Irvine, CA. Prior to that, Joe supplied process control equipment to the commercial nuclear power industry through his work at Enertech. Joe started his career as a US Naval Nuclear Reactor Operator.
John Scott, has over 30 years experience in the manufacturing, quality assurance and technical service fields for the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Prior to Process Integration, John worked at Pall Corp, responsible for sales throughout Southern California. He specialized in the design of filtration systems for specific applications. As Director of Manufacturing at IDEC Pharmaceuticals, John was responsible for the manufacture and product launch of Rituxan. His areas of responsibility spanned cell culture, purification, maintenance, facilities, and QA compliance with a strong emphasis on process optimization. Earlier in his career, John worked in manufacturing operations at Genetech and was also involved in the design, build, and start-up of a $25 million facility for the production of biologics at Celtrix Pharmaceuticals.
AES continues to focus on expanding its core business and growing its customer base. The acquisition of Process Integration, Inc. is one more step toward this goal.
